Jamie and Chelle’s 25th birthday party
aka Girly Night Part Two
Always a good time with these girls. :)
Relaxed Friday night with my favorites. We were laughing hysterically by the end of the night but not loud enough to wake up the sleeping Manong beside our table.
I’ve been told again and again how much I resemble my mother. I didn’t see it at first but I’ve been lately looking at myself in the mirror and I noticed several changes in my face which I can attribute to my mother’s physical appearance. Truth be told, I am getting “old” and I’m slowly turning into my Mama… physically and her whole personality.
Ako to eh!
I can’t tell you how glad I am that I am turning into my mother! If anything, I am lucky! My Mama is a strong, independent woman (sometimes stubborn, hehe). I can tell you all about the sacrifices she has done for her family but this is not Maalala Mo Kaya. I just want to honor her joyfully and in the best, jubilant way possible.
I love how my Mama always asks me for showbiz chismis, specifically Luis & Angel Locsin’s relationship. I keep persuading to her like my DongYan but she always tell me that Luis and Angel’s are more genuine, akala mo sya matchmaker nila. She got sad when those two broke up and she was the happiest when they rekindled. Kulit talaga. Like me, she adores Piolo. I constantly tell her that I will marry Piolo someday, God-willing. She responds with, "Sige ako bahala mag-"I Do". Most importantly, she makes THE BEST LECHE FLAN IN THE WORLD. NO KIDDING. #UNBIASED. She could make her own flan restaurant and we will be billionaires.
Never did I let a day pass without telling her how I much love her and I wouldn’t miss this special day of telling it again. I love you, Ma. Even though I say that I’m turning into your mini-version, honestly, I will never be like you. You’ve set the standards pretty high. I am inspired by what you did (and continue doing) for your whole family. I can never imagine what you’ve been through at such a young age and I just want to thank you for you made sure that we got all we need while we were growing up. You may not have been with us physically but let me assure you, it helped us grow and mature to be the person that we are today. I know that you regret those years that you were not present but again, let me reiterate : THE DISTANCE MADE US A STRONG AND LOVING FAMILY.
Happy Birthday, Mother. You know that I constantly pray that you find peace in our Lord Jesus Christ. I know Wonder Woman ka but God will take ALL the burden from you. I pray that you let God take control of your life so you can just chill and relax. :) You had a tough year, Ma but every day is a new opportunity to start all over again. Sabi nga sa Word, “This is the day that he LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it”.
We are with you every step of the way. We will always be here to make you laugh, to serve you and to love you. I know we sometimes don’t meet eye to eye but I choose to honor God by honoring you all the time. So I’m really sorry for the petty arguments, as you can see, I am your daughter so we always like to argue. Hehe. Can’t wait to see you, beautiful! I love you so much! Happy 50th!
